She utilizes a variety of evidence-based approaches to best meet each child’s needs, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Dr. Nero has extensive experience working in hospital, school, and private practice settings, engaging in psychological testing, individual and group therapy, and crisis intervention. She has provided supervision and training to psychology and social work trainees, medical students, residents, and post-doctoral fellows. Dr. Nero was inspired to become a psychologist by her grandfather, who worked for the state of California helping individuals with disabilities start businesses.
