# A thoughtful, three-part evaluation built around your family

Depending on the child, the type of concern, and the goals of the family, treatment for anxiety may involve therapy for the child or teen, therapy to help the parent manage symptoms at home, and psychiatry.

Here’s how our core offerings work.

## Therapy

*Our licensed, experienced therapists utilize evidence-based therapy approaches to help kids, teens, and parents understand and manage their symptoms.*

The core component of therapy focuses on helping kids and teens face their fears both in and between sessions. We primarily utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with a significant focus on exposure and response prevention (ERP).

Sessions primarily involve the child with frequent involvement from the parent(s) — it’s vital for you to know the goals of care and what you should do to support them.

Depending on your child’s age and developmental stage, care may be more focused on supporting the parent. In these and some other cases, parent management training (PMT) is proven to be helpful.

## Psychiatry

*We offer expert psychiatric care and medication management as a core part of our integrated care, and in certain situations, it’s also available as a standalone service.*

**You are the expert on your child,** kids are experts on how they feel, and our clinicians are experts on mental health. Together, we can create an individualized care path that moves each child towards their mental health goals.

**Your child’s team, your way:** Your child does not have to be enrolled in therapy with Brightline to receive psychiatry services. We will gladly collaborate with outside therapists.

**Flexible appointment types:** Some visits will be in person so we can check your child’s vitals, height, weight, etc. Other appointments can be conveniently held online.

**Tiered treatment:** Your child will start with more frequent check-ins (to talk through side effects and progress), then move into a maintenance phase when the correct long-term treatment is established.

**Optional standalone support:** There are certain situations and presenting concerns where ongoing psychiatric care can be a standalone support. Our team will help you understand and decide when this kind of care is appropriate for your child.
