About Trish Pennix, LMHC-D
Trish Pennix is a licensed mental health counselor (with diagnostic privilege) at Brightline’s White Plains clinic. Trish has extensive experience providing evidence-based, trauma-informed care across a variety of clinical settings. She has worked in outpatient community mental health clinics, crisis services, correctional settings, and leadership roles supervising multidisciplinary teams of clinicians. Her clinical experience includes conducting comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, crisis intervention and risk assessments, individual, family, and group therapy, treatment planning, and clinical supervision. Trish has worked with individuals experiencing anxiety disorders, depression, trauma and PTSD, ADHD, mood disorders, behavioral challenges, relationship and family conflict, grief, self-esteem concerns, life transitions, and emotional regulation difficulties.
Trish’s therapeutic approach is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized. She integrates evidence-based modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), trauma-focused CBT (TF-CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), solution-focused therapy, and family systems approaches to meet each client's unique needs. Her work is grounded in helping clients build resilience, develop practical coping skills, and create lasting change. As both a clinician and clinical leader, Trish remains committed to ensuring treatment is culturally responsive, strengths-based, and tailored to each individual and family.
Trish is passionate about supporting parents in developing practical strategies that strengthen family relationships and improve children's emotional and behavioral functioning. What excites her the most is witnessing the transformation that occurs when people begin to recognize their own strengths and discover hope during life's most difficult moments. She believes healing happens through authentic relationships built on trust, empathy, and respect.

What is a therapist?
Brightline therapists have earned their master’s degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or counseling. They are independently licensed. They are qualified to do therapy and diagnostic evaluations (when they have their diagnostic privilege credential for some license types). Therapists do not prescribe medication, but they are able to directly refer families who need that service to a Brightline psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner.
