About Sarah Wallin, LMHC
Sarah Wallin is a licensed mental health counselor at Brightline’s Brooklyn clinic. Sarah has specialized in working with young children and adolescents throughout her career, supporting clients with ADHD, OCD, anxiety, depression, trauma, disruptive behaviors, LGBTQ+ identity development, and the many life transitions that shape childhood and adolescence including school challenges, peer conflicts, and family changes such as divorce.
Sarah is trained in evidence-based practices, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and parent management training (PMT). She’s worked in foster care and private practice, with young adults down to toddlers, providing diagnostic evaluations, individual therapy, parent coaching, and collaborative care with schools and community providers.
What grounds Sarah most in her work is a passion for helping kids feel seen and heard. She believes that young people often carry more than adults realize and, in today’s world, they are navigating pressures and complexities that can feel overwhelming.

What is a therapist?
Our therapists have earned their master's degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or counseling. They are independently licensed. They are qualified to do therapy and diagnostic evaluations (when they have their diagnostic privilege credential for some license types). Therapists do not prescribe medication, but they are able to directly refer families who need that service to a Brightline psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner.
