About Trish Pennix, LMHC-D
Trish Pennix is a licensed mental health counselor (with diagnostic privilege) at Brightline’s White Plains clinic. She brings extensive experience across outpatient community mental health, crisis services, and clinical leadership, and a therapeutic approach that is collaborative, compassionate, and built around each family's unique needs.
Trish specializes in anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, ADHD, mood disorders, and behavioral challenges. She also works with kids, teens, and families navigating grief, life transitions, and emotional regulation difficulties. She draws on a range of evidence-based approaches, including CBT, DBT, ACT, and trauma-focused CBT, to meet each child and family where they are.
What drives Trish is witnessing the moment a person begins to recognize their own strengths and find hope in the middle of a hard season. She believes that real healing happens through authentic relationships built on trust, empathy, and respect, and that parents are essential partners in that process.

What is a therapist?
Brightline therapists have earned their master’s degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or counseling. They are independently licensed. They are qualified to do therapy and diagnostic evaluations (when they have their diagnostic privilege credential for some license types). Therapists do not prescribe medication, but they are able to directly refer families who need that service to a Brightline psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner.
