About Nazanin Kavoussi, LCSW-R
Nazanin Kavoussi, LCSW-R is a licensed clinical social worker at Brightline’s Lake Success clinic. Her clinical background spans outpatient clinics, community agencies, and private practice.
Nazanin works with children and adolescents navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and complex behavioral presentations. She draws from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, exposure therapy, and motivational interviewing, working within a family systems framework. She also holds a Master Level Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor designation, bringing specialized expertise to adolescents whose mental health needs intersect with substance use.
What grounds Nazanin’s work is a belief that lasting change is possible — and that the path there looks different for every child and family.

What is a therapist?
Brightline therapists have earned their master’s degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or counseling. They are independently licensed. They are qualified to do therapy and diagnostic evaluations (when they have their diagnostic privilege credential for some license types). Therapists do not prescribe medication, but they are able to directly refer families who need that service to a Brightline psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner.
