What to gather beforehand

  • Details about your child's development, behavior, and any medical history

  • Previous evaluations, medical records, or school reports, if you have them

  • Any questions or goals you want to bring to the conversation

Helping your child feel ready

  • Let them know what to expect, in words that make sense for their age

  • Reassure them it's okay to feel nervous or unsure

  • Remind them there's no right or wrong way to show up

Logistics

What To Expect Illustration
  • For online appointments, find a quiet, private space with a strong internet connection and a working camera and microphone

  • For in-person appointments at one of our Brightline clinics, plan to arrive a few minutes early

  • The parent who consents to care should be available for the full session

  • If the appointment takes place online, your child must be in your state of residence due to licensing rules
