“Behaviors labeled as 'bad' or 'challenging' are usually a child's body doing its best to stay safe based on past experiences. As a therapist, I'm passionate about using trauma-informed guidance to help children and their families move out of survival mode and build healthier, more resilient lives.”

About Christina Sampson, MSW, LCSW

Christina Sampson, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker at Brightline's Columbus Circle clinic. She is also recognized as a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor Trainee in New York State, bringing an additional layer of expertise to families navigating intersecting challenges.

What is a therapist?

Brightline therapists have earned their master’s degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or counseling. They are independently licensed. They are qualified to do therapy and diagnostic evaluations (when they have their diagnostic privilege credential for some license types). Therapists do not prescribe medication, but they are able to directly refer families who need that service to a Brightline psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner.
