Carlen Hiciano, LMHC-D

Therapist

(she/her)

What excites me most about this field is being able to work with children, teens and families. It's amazing to watch clients discover their own strengths, reclaim their confidence, and realize just how resilient they truly are. I’m also deeply passionate about breaking down barriers to mental health care and providing bilingual (English/Spanish) therapeutic services."

About Carlen Hiciano, LMHC-D

Carlen Hiciano is a bilingual licensed mental health counselor at Brightline's Albany clinic. Her approach draws primarily from CBT and ACT, with a focus on helping kids, teens, and young adults build practical skills, grow their confidence, and navigate life in a way that feels true to who they are.

Carlen works with a wide range of young people managing ADHD, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. She brings experience across schools, community clinics, and private practice, including diagnostic evaluations, crisis support, and individual and group therapy. She also has a strong track record of collaborating with school teams, families, and community partners to support care beyond the clinic.

What is a therapist?

Brightline therapists have earned their master’s degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or counseling. They are independently licensed. They are qualified to do therapy and diagnostic evaluations (when they have their diagnostic privilege credential for some license types). Therapists do not prescribe medication, but they are able to directly refer families who need that service to a Brightline psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner.
